Director of Outpatient and Specialty Services

Katherine “Kat” M. Zwick, LCPC, CGP-S, CCCS, is a licensed clinical professional counselor with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Argosy University and a B.S. from Northwestern University. She is a seasoned therapist and leader in the field and has specialized in treating eating disorders for adolescents, adults, and families for over 13 years at the PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care.

Kat has been a therapist and counselor since 2008 and brings a depth of experience in many co-occurring areas, such as substance use, complex trauma, anxiety disorders, relationship challenges, and recovery from coercive control, in addition to others. Kat is also trained to assist those with ADHD and executive functioning challenges through a neurodivergent-affirming paradigm. Kat followed the clinical needs of her eating disordered clients over many years to gain experience and expertise in co-occurring presentations so that individualized care was possible for clients who may otherwise be missed by more standardized approaches to eating disorder treatment.

She is deeply trained in DBT and Multi-Family DBT, which she adapts through trauma-informed and multicultural frameworks, and she integrates psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, IFS, ACT, ERP, family systems, and feminist approaches in her clinical practice.

Since 2013, Kat has provided clinical and operational leadership in outpatient, IOP, and PHP settings, emphasizing inclusivity, staff development, and evidence-based program growth. They are a Board Certified Group Psychotherapist & Qualified Supervisor, Certified Coercive Control Specialist, and they currently serve as Director of the rigorous annual Core Principles Course for the American Group Psychotherapy Association.

Clients and colleagues describe Kat as warm, responsive, and direct. She especially enjoys mentoring and educating clinicians and leaders, building programs, fostering collaborative teams, and solving complex problems. For over a decade, she has proudly advocated for girls and women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and neurodivergent populations, bringing compassion and humor to her work alongside a commitment to clinical excellence.
